2 Gown Description

e Embellishing The Gown

 

 

 

The rice paper (11" x 60' ) was unrolled, wrinkled and crinkled then ironed to a slightly smoothed finished for a crushed silk fabric look. The rolls were then laid out on top of the flat lining of the gown.

The paper panels laid out over the flat lining creating a larger paper "fabric" for the gown

The panels were sewn

The sewn paper panel seams were ironed flat

The flat lining was pinned to the now larger paper "fabric"

The excess paper was trimmed away. Once all of the pieces were cut, the gown was ready  to assemble.
